Here are this weekend's happenings at DaCy Meadow Farm :

Brunch in The Localvore Gallery this Sunday from 9:00 - 1:00 - Cynthia has prepared a selection of quiches featuring fresh local produce and our own ham. Vegetarian choices will be available. Brunch includes toast made with Dogwood Bread Company bread, a fresh garden salad, local fruit, and all beverages. If you're still hungry ,dessert is available. Relax and take your time in the gallery surrounded by works from our featured artists.  The cost is $10.00. Reservations are recommended.

Sundaes On The Farm -  Saturday and Sunday from 1-5 PM. For a special treat stop by and enjoy a sundae with our own homemade ice cream and fresh local fruit. The toppings are all free. Let the kids play on our swing set or take a picture with Barnum and Bailey, our Dalmation oxen. At 2:00 each day we will have an oxen demonstration. You might
get a chance to take the boys for a spin.

Fresh Pork - We processed a pig this week and have a great selection of chops, fresh ham steaks, and breakfast sausage.  If you're grilling this week , we have a limited quantity of ribs.

Roasting Chickens - You can order a wonderful free-range roasting chicken direct from a local producer and pick it up at the Localvore Farmstand. We are now taking orders for fresh, holiday turkeys.

Organic Hereford Beef - We've sold out of our Dexter beef for the season but are taking orders for next season. In order to guarantee the quality you've come to enjoy, we have purchased and processed an organic, grass-fed Hereford that will be available next week. We will have hamburger, hamburger patties, stew meat, and a great selection of steaks perfect for the grill.

Eggs and Cheese-  We have farm fresh eggs , organic cheese from Clovermeade Farm and organic chevre from Asgaard Farm. Let Cynthia use these and other fresh local products to bake you a tasty quiche for $12.

Produce - We appreciate your patience while we've worked out the logistics of our venture with local farmers. With so many venues to buy produce this time of year, we have decided to sell produce by order only. We have worked out an arrangement with Fledgling Crow Farm
to offer their incredible organic produce to our customers. We will let you know this Sunday what's available, orders are due by Tuesday, and you can pick up your order after Thursday . This will help us insure that all of our produce is organic, fresh, and local.

Treat Of The Week - We have some wonderful toffee from the Timberland Trail Ranch available. Take home some of our homemade ice cream and crumble it on top and we know you'll be back for more.

This week's reason for buying local food  - When you buy your food locally from a farm that raises heritage meat and produce you are helping to protect the genetic diversity of our nation's food supply.
