I've just noticed that Google Earth's coverage of the greater Westport area had improved a lot over the past 6 months. They seem to have acquired imagery from the USDA Farm Service Agency. The practical implication of this is that Westporters looking to make a good map of their farm or camp can use these images to work from. (Help from me available upon request.)
This imagery is not as good as in some urban areas. For my parents house in Seattle, you can see that both of their cars are parked in the driveway and can identify some of the dog agility equipment in the front yard. Coverage of Westport us not that detailed. Nonetheless, this is a huge improvement, and opens up opportunities for using Google Earth for promoting the town of Westport. I am excited.
